Privacy Policy
- There is no account, and we never ask for your name, email or phone number.
- Your progress is kept on your iPhone, in your iCloud, and on our server under a random ID.
- We count how the app is used, without knowing who you are.
- Free players can watch optional videos for extra energy. Those come from an ad network, and you decide about tracking. Members see no ads.
- Payments are handled by Apple. We never see your card.
Who we are
Witilo is a brain games app for iPhone made by an independent developer ("we", "us"). This policy covers the Witilo app and this website. If you have any question about it, write to support@witilo.app.
What we collect
When you play
- A random player ID. On first launch the app signs in anonymously with Firebase and gets a random ID. It is not linked to your name, email or Apple ID.
- Your progress. Levels, stars, streaks, scores, badges, your daily goals and settings such as reminder time. This is saved on your iPhone, copied to your iCloud key-value storage (which only you can reach) and backed up on our server under your random ID, so it is not lost if you reinstall.
- Finished sessions. For each finished workout or game we store what kind of session it was and when it was played.
- Usage events. Anonymous events such as which screen was opened, a game started or finished, energy used, a paywall shown or a purchase started. We use them to see which games work and where people get stuck.
- Device basics. Like any app using these services: device model, iOS version, app version, language, country or region, time zone, and technical logs needed to keep the service running.
When you write to us
The Help & feedback form in the app sends the topic and text you write, plus the app version, iOS version, device model, language, region and time zone, and your random player ID so we can find your records. It is stored on our server and forwarded to the developer as a private message. Do not put personal details in it that you do not want us to have.
When you buy membership
Apple handles payment. We receive the purchase status (which plan, renewal and expiry dates) from Apple through RevenueCat, linked to your random player ID. We never receive your name, email or card details.

What we do not collect
No name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, health data, or microphone or camera access. Witilo has no sign-in and no social features.
This website
The website has no cookies, no analytics and no ads. Our host (Vercel) keeps standard server logs, such as IP address and browser type, for security and to deliver the pages.
Who helps us run Witilo
We use a few services to run the app. Each one gets only what it needs to do its job.

These services may process data in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires it, transfers are covered by safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. We do not sell your personal data for money.
Ads and tracking
Witilo has no banners and no ads between games. When a free player runs out of energy, they can choose to watch a short video for more. These videos are served by Appodeal and the ad networks it works with.
- Before the first video, iOS asks whether Witilo may track you across apps and websites. If you say no, the advertising identifier is not shared and ads are not personalised with it.
- Where the law requires consent (for example in the UK and the European Economic Area), you are asked through a consent form before personalised ads are shown.
- Ad networks may still collect device basics and ad interactions to deliver the video, count views and prevent fraud.
- Members never see ads, and the ad service is not started for members.
You can change your tracking choice any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Why we use it
- To run the app you asked for: saving and restoring your progress, membership, reminders.
- To improve it: anonymous usage counts show which games are too hard, too easy or broken. This is our legitimate interest in making a better app.
- To keep it free: optional reward videos. Personalised ads and tracking only with your permission.
- To answer you: when you send feedback.
- To keep it safe and follow the law.
How long we keep it
Progress and session records are kept while you use Witilo, so your progress can be restored. Feedback is kept as long as we need it to deal with what you wrote. Usage data is kept under Firebase's retention settings. Purchase records are kept as long as the law on accounting requires. When you ask us to delete your data, we remove it from our server, apart from what we must keep by law.
Your choices
- Notifications: Witilo only sends reminders if you allow them. Turn them off in the app's Settings or in iOS Settings.
- Tracking: say no when iOS asks, or change it in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Reset progress: in the app's Settings.
- Delete your data: send a request through Help & feedback in the app (that way we can find your random ID), or email us. Deleting the app removes the copy on your iPhone; your iCloud copy can be removed in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including the UK, the European Economic Area and California, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or move your data, to object to or limit how we use it, to withdraw consent, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal data for advertising (saying no to tracking does this in Witilo). Write to support@witilo.app and we will answer within one month. You can also complain to your local data protection authority, such as the ICO in the UK.
Children
Witilo is meant for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
