Digit span test

Digits appear one at a time. Type them back in the same order.

What is digit span?

Digit span is the longest row of digits you can repeat back right after hearing or seeing it. It is one of the oldest memory tests. Most adults hold about seven digits, give or take two.

Witilo has it with digits and with squares that light up in order, the visual version of the same idea.

How it gets harder

Every Witilo game has 50 levels, and you can always go back to an easier one.

  • Digit Span works like the paper test: one more digit after each right answer, one fewer after two misses in a row, and two tries at each length.
  • Easy levels start at 3 digits. The top levels start at 6, aim for 9, and show each digit for half a second.
  • From the medium levels there are no easy runs such as 4-5-6.
  • Flash Order starts on a 3×3 grid with short orders and moves to a 4×4 grid with longer ones and quicker flashes.
