Reaction time test

Wait for green, then tap. Fast, but not early.

What is a reaction time test?

A simple reaction time test measures how long it takes you to tap after a signal. A choice reaction test adds a decision: which of several lamps lit up. Go/no-go adds a stop: tap green, but hold back on red.

Witilo has six Reaction games. Four of them are reaction time tests in this classic sense.

How to play in Witilo

  • Quick Tap game in Witilo

    Quick Tap

Wait for solid green, then tap as fast as you can.

  • Choice Tap game in Witilo

    Choice Tap

One lamp lights up green. Tap it as fast as you can. Grey flashes don't count.

  • Stop the Bar game in Witilo

    Stop the Bar

The marker runs along the bar. Tap to stop it inside the gold zone.

  • Tap Only Green game in Witilo

    Tap Only Green

Tap every green circle. Do not tap the red ones.

How it gets harder

Every Witilo game has 50 levels, and you can always go back to an easier one.

  • Quick Tap: the wait before green is random. The target shrinks, and grey decoy flashes come from the hard levels. To pass, you need about 500 ms at first and 400 ms at the top.
  • Choice Tap: from 2 lamps to 4, with grey decoys at higher levels. The pass mark goes from 650 ms to 560 ms.
  • Stop the Bar: the gold zone shrinks from about a quarter of the bar to under a tenth, and the marker speeds up and slows down at the top levels.
  • Tap Only Green: more red circles to hold back on, faster circles and look-alike colours.

Questions

What is a good reaction time?

A simple tap on a phone screen usually takes adults somewhere around 250 to 350 milliseconds, including the screen and the finger. Compare yourself with yourself: Witilo keeps your own results over time.

What happens if I tap too early?

An early tap does not count. That is the point of the game: fast, but only after the signal.
