How does Speed Read work?
Speed Read shows one word at a time in the same place (RSVP, rapid serial visual presentation). Your eyes do not have to jump along a line, so you can try speeds above your normal pace. A short question after each step checks that you still understood.
Your result is your comfortable speed: the fastest pace at which you still answered right.

Some words are broken: mixed up, mirrored or written with numbers. Read the text anyway.
How it gets harder
Every Witilo game has 50 levels, and you can always go back to an easier one.
- Each round has three steps. On easy levels they are 200, 250 and 300 words per minute.
- At the top levels the steps are 400, 520 and 650 words per minute.
- Read & Recall grows from 60-word texts to 200-word texts, with questions on details, the main idea and what follows from the text.
- Witilo has 13 reading games in all, from mirrored letters to jumbled words.
Questions
What is a normal reading speed?
Many adults read everyday text at roughly 200 to 300 words per minute. Witilo's Speed Read starts there and goes up to 650.
Do the reading games work in my language?
Word and reading games are in the language of the app in 19 languages. In Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Thai they are in English.
